Digital Alert Systems, formed in 2003 to address an the ongoing EAS market, the replacement EAS market, and developing emergency communications markets, has developed and is delivering the DASDEC. The DASDEC, FCC certified in 2004, meets the EAS requirements and provides network input to address CAP requirements, with control ability to directly replace any current EAS configuration. The DASDEC, a LINUX driven integrated platform, is browser operated and new units with the 700 units presently in the field can be upgraded to CAP compliance by downloading software from the web. The DASDEC provides numerous improvements to the traditional machine language driven packages installed in the 90s. Some improvements are: remote operation; three internal browser defined receivers for AM, FM, or NOAA; optional AES audio, MPEG and expanded monitoring; template display and setting of audio levels; network printing of required hard copies eliminate the internal printer; a single button front panel for forwarding and test generation; online setup and maintenance; storage of thousands of EAS events with associated audio; NTP for clock accuracy; no batteries; offers network interface (when defined) to Master Control and Automation Systems; optional MultiStation software covers up to five (5) outputs; and CentralCasting with optional EAS-NET enables EAS coverage of remote locations. The network input, designed into every DASDEC, is the major improvement that enable several of those mentioned above and allows the receipt and ultimate handling of
CAP data.
